How to Choose Affiliate Products to Promote



Knowing how to choose affiliate products to promote determine your success as an affiliate marketer.
In this post, I will explain to you in details how to choose affiliate products from ClickBank the affiliate network. When you sign up to ClickBank and go to Marketplace you will see hundreds of thousands of products offered by them. You will need years to study all of them. ClickBank developed a tool, as to how to find profitable niche which is easy to sell. 
According to my experience the first thing you should check is "gravity" or product gravity. Product gravity shows the number of sells made by the affiliates for the chosen product during the current week. It is still a question what is the gravity boundary to determine which product is easy to sell, but from my own experience I only choose products with gravity higher than 50. If you find a product with gravity higher than 100 then believe me even if you are a beginner you will make sales with low efforts. 

The second thing you should check is the price and the commission offered by the vendor. I suggest that you promote a product that offers you at least 40% commission. 
What does 40% commission mean?
It means that, if the product costs $100 and you make a sale you will earn $40. Some of the so-called affiliate gurus will tell you to do not promote a products with price lower than $200. I highly suggest you that this is not true. You don't need to promote high expensive products to be successful. Promoting high expensive products is useful if you are paying to some advertising networks such as Google Adwords, Chitika or Yahoo. But if you are trying to earn money without spending money than you can freely promote a product that cost $30. 

The third thing is to research about to your product or to buy it. From my own experience the best way to know everything about such a product is to buy it. If it is a book, software or a service then you will learn everything for them only if you buy it. 

The fourth thing is to know your customers. Your chosen product must be a solution for some problem. When you find some product I suggest you to research on the various related forums to check what the people needs, how your solution is different and more practical and similar things. You should ask questions to the social networks and depended of the answers to react. In this contest comes the keyword. Let's say you are selling a product that can spin articles. That means it is capable from one article to recreate hundreds new article, different from the original. This is useful tool in you SEO, because these article can be submitted to the article directories to make your niche website or blog more competitive. In this way you can't write into the search engines "free article spinner".  Not that this keyword will not be useful but if you write "buy article spinner" and find some forums or social networks where the people want it then you will achieve better success. You should start to think as a seller. You should research a lot about your niche or you need to pay for advertising. 
Researching I discovered many people spamming the social networks or forums by posting hundreds of links to them. This is not the way. you will only loose your reputation and will be deleted by the search engines.
